Apple decide to use SiP, ASE got the order.
Conclusion:

lots of SiP module.

module in their products of future.

SiP’s order from Apple.

of revenue may come from SiP’s order.
From this year, Apple introduced SiP (System In Package)
technology on their packing process. SiP was not only used on “Apple Watch”,
but also in the iPhone 6S/6S Plus in the second half year. Also, the SiP
process will use on finger print sensor and force touch in Macbook and iPad
products. From above information, ASE’s EPS (Earning Per Share) might over
4~4.5 NTD since ASE got the order from Apple’s SiP packing & testing.
Base on the business’ forecast reporter, the predict sell volume
of Apple Watch is over 20 million pcs, most of the forecaster thought Apple
Watch can hit the market. Also, iFixit website’s report showed, Apple Watch
used lots of SiP packaging module in it. These included, accelerator,
gyroscope, heart rate sensor, microphone’s MEMS module, press sensor, NFC,
WiFi, bluethooth. ASE get the 80% volume of the SiP process of Apple Watch.
Last second year, Apple pushed iPhone 6/6 Plus, the selling
record was pretty good. In 2nd quarter, selling is over 60 million
pcs. In iPhone6, there are 6 sets of SiP modules. Included, A8 chip, finger
print sensor, wireless net, gyroscope, CMOS, and amplifie. ASE got
70% volume of iPhone’s SiP module’s order.
This
made ASE’s 1st quarter had 22.3 billion NTD revenue, 18 % raised
compare to last year.
The advantage of SiP is combined different chip in the same
module. Since the iPhone 6/6 Plus, and Apple Watch had a good selling, Apple
decided involved more SiP module in the products to second half year.
Some
of suppliers said, Apple may increase SiP module from 9 sets to 12 sets. Also, the SiP module was already in the Apple’s laptop. From
the information, Apple may become the biggest SiP user, and ASE could get lots
of benefit from this.
ASE didn’t have any common on one customer and information of
order, but they are optimistic on the future of SiP. Since Apple’s products
really hit the market, ASE’s 2nd quarter should better than his
competitor. The
revenue may get 10% higher than last year and target to 300 billion NTD. This
will make the EPS up to 4~4.5 NTD.
